Inter Milan 6-2 Crotone: Lautaro Martinez blasts a hat-trick with Romelu Lukaku also on target
Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez’s first hat-trick for Inter Milan helped his side thrash Crotone 6-2, registering their 8th successive Serie A win on Sunday. With the win Antonio Conte’s team has replaced AC Milan at the top of the points table.
The match however, started with a goal from Crotone’s Italian mid-fielder Niccolò Zanellato.
Martinez scored in the 20th minute to level the score 1-1 before Luca Marrone’s own goal gave Inter a 2-1 lead. A Vladimir Golemic penalty then levelled things up once again.
Martinez scored for the second time in the 5th minute to brilliantly give Inter Milan the lead before Romelu Lukaku netted his first of the night seven minutes later. The goal was Lukaku’s 50th for Inter across all competitions.
Martinez completed his first Inter hat-trick 12 minutes from time, while Achraf Hakimi put the final nail in the coffin with an 87th minute goal.
Inter Milan are now 2 points ahead of AC Milan, who play Benevento later on Sunday. With just 2 wins this season, Crotone remain 19th.
